TungSOUBorn 18-01-1962, of Market Street, Whitworth. We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected death of Tung who passed away peacefully on 16th January 2017, aged just 54 years. Beloved husband of Yan; dad of Li and Shan; brother of Fay Gee; uncle of Jade, Jasmine and Samantha, Sher Rie, Nathan and Sher Er; Wing Wen, Daisy and Phoenix; son-in-law to Rui Hua, brother-in-law to Joe and Delon, friend to so many and a top class chef. The owner and chef of his family takeaway The Friendly Kitchen in Whitworth since 1996. We want to thank all our devoted customers both old and new who have supported the business throughout the years. He felt proud to serve his food to you all. As a family we are really sorry that the best chef in the world will no longer be able to cook for you. We are distraught this has happened so close to what would have been The Friendly Kitchen's 50th anniversary in the village of Whitworth, which Tung had been greatly looking forward to celebrating. He was a very close member of the Whitworth community. Funeral service to take place at Whitworth Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday 8th February 2017 at 10.00am, followed by interment at graveside.
